Are you having a bad day? Don’t worry! Reconnect with your inner optimist with these 7 Uplifting Thoughts for a Rainy Day:
1. Time heals all wounds
Life gets difficult sometimes: we all hurt, we all fall, we all fail; it’s just another part of being human! But no matter how much something hurts right now, or how terrible you feel, you can be certain that things will get easier as time goes by: you will think about it less, it will hurt less, and you will accept it more. And, out of the blue, there will come a day when you won’t even think about it at all!
2. What others think of you is none of your business
The only thing that matters is what you think of yourself, how good you feel about yourself, and how much you love yourself. Other people’s thoughts, feelings and perceptions are their problem, not yours! As long as you are kind to yourself and you do your best, the best will come your way!
3. It’s OK to not know everything
It’s OK not to know the answers: nobody knows it all! You do not have to understand everything right now: when you are ready to know, you’ll know. In the meantime, think less and live more!
4. No one is in charge of your happiness but you
Never put your happiness in the hands of someone else: your wellness is your responsibility! If you don’t put your happiness first, who will?
5. Make peace with your past once and for all
Put your past to rest: that way it won’t ruin your present and jeopardize your future! Forgive yourself, forgive others, forgive the past, and let it go.
6. It’s not kind to judge
Everyone is entitled to their view of the world, just like you. Don’t be so quick to judge: you can never tell what’s going on in anyone’s life by looking at it from the outside! Instead of judging, choose to accept and respect. The less judgmental you are towards others, the less judgmental others will be towards you. It’s never kind to judge… especially when the person you are judging is yourself!
No matter how big and scary your problems are, you are one of the blessed ones: here and now there are millions of other people with far bigger and scarier problems, and far less to smile about! Learn to appreciate how lucky you are: the happiest people in life are the ones who count their blessings, while others count their problems!
Breathe in happiness, breathe out pain. Breathe in hope, breathe out stress. Breathe in the present, breathe out the past. Choose happiness over pain, love over fear, faith over doubt: you deserve it!
